Did You Know Foo Fighters Performed In Yonkers?
Back in 2011, Foo Fighters (yes, the actual band) embarked on a tour of several lucky fans' garages. One of these stops was at the Sepa residence right here in Yonkers. I had the extreme fortune of being one of the 50 lucky people to attend this show.
It was an unbelievable show. The band played two hours worth of material in the garage including a setlist of the classics, as well as material off the album they were promoting at the time, "Wasting Light." Out of all the band practices that I had over the years in that garage, it never sounded so good.
Recently my band, Shakeout (Yonkers locals), decided to record a cover of "The Pretender" by the Foo Fighters in that exact garage to pay tribute to that amazing day. Our band is unique in the fact that we are only two members. Honestly, two musicians trying to fill the shoes of performing this song wasn't easy, but something we had a lot of fun doing.
