The Knicks have a team in White Plains. Yes, really.

It's called the Westchester Knicks. Same name. Same orange and blue. They play at the Westchester County Center, and their home opener is Saturday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m.

What the G League is

The Westchester Knicks play in the NBA G League. That's the NBA's official minor league. Think of a farm team in baseball.

The players here want to make it to the NBA. Some are young draft picks. Some are pros working their way back. The New York Knicks use this team to get players ready for the big stage.

They've played at the County Center since 2014.

One name to watch

On Oct. 23, the New York Knicks signed Dalton Knecht to a two-way contract. The Los Angeles Lakers picked him 17th in the 2024 NBA Draft. As a rookie, he made nine 3-pointers in one game. That tied the NBA rookie record.

A two-way contract lets a player go back and forth. He can play for the Knicks. He can also play for their G League team. For the Knicks, that's the team in White Plains.

So keep an eye on that roster.

How to go

The season starts on the road. Westchester plays two games in Maine, on Friday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 8.

Then they come home. The home opener is Saturday, Nov. 14, against the Greensboro Swarm. Doors open at 2 p.m. Tip-off is at 3.

When we checked on Oct. 28, the cheapest seats on Ticketmaster were $20.95. That includes fees, before tax.

Can't make it? They're home three more times around Thanksgiving: Nov. 25, Nov. 27 and Nov. 29.

Same name. Same colors. Way cheaper seats.
