The collective has one main goal, which is to create a positive and always growing music community in Westchester, while giving the musician's all of the tools that they need to succeed.
Westchester County is a truly a unique community full of such talented and creative people. It’s the scene I grew up in and have been playing in for almost 15 years now and it’s always felt like home to me. I’ve played music in communities across the entire country and in a lot of areas either there’s competition between bands or all of the bands sound the same and copy each other, but that’s not what it’s like at all in Westchester at all. Every band sounds completely different from one another, yet everyone is so supportive of each other and treats each other like family. That’s how it should be.
The goal of the Donck Collective is to provide a platform to unite the musicians in the area and provide them with all of the tools that they need to be successful, whether that’s hosting shows for both local and touring acts and providing a safe space for people to enjoy live music; screen printing merchandise for bands at the most affordable rates that they can find around to help them sustain their projects be financially successful; offering multiple options for studios to record in and help bands find the best fit for their project; offering lessons for guitar, drums, and piano to students of all ages to help musicians hone their craft or help to bring new musicians in the area to keep this thing alive for years to come; and finally a news blog section where you can find out about all of the latest news with Westchester bands/artists and see what’s happening in the music community.
Please be sure to check out the family section of the site and listen to some great local bands!
